Sculptor, JASON de CAIRES TAYLOR continues to inspire

I don´t believe that art can exist in isolation. Da Vinci´s Mona Lisa surely speaks in some way, even smiles in some way, to characters in crayon-drawings by five year olds, and the stone horses of The Rising Tide discuss the state of the world with all who ever stop to look at them, in different light and waterscape depending on the time of the day. The work itself surely engages in conversation, even if not in agreement, with the Another Place exhibition / installation placed on the Crosby coastline in the UK by Antony Gormley.

THE FLATLANDERS: Treasure Of Love

Sidetracks And Detours. Here´s To The Ladies 2022, an inaugural in-print festival DIANE WARREN:

“To me it’s like, ‘This is a great song, let’s get it on the radio!’ But it’s like, ‘Well, no, you have to build a story.’ Fuck that. If the Beatles or Prince existed now, I have no idea how that would have worked. They would have had to do TikTok campaigns and if that didn’t work, the label wouldn’t push their music. Who the fuck knows? But it still comes down to an undeniable song. I still believe that.”

The Arts Go MARCHing on in 2022

We have already seen nearly twenty musical events and visited a number of visual arts exhibitions in 2022. We have even followed guided walks and talks to review here in the arts and culture section of Lanzarote Information. Since lockdowns lifted here on Lanzarote many measures and protocols have been eased and the arts (and we who love the arts) have been grateful beneficiaries of those moves.
