REMEMBERING GUY CLARK: Sidetracks and Detours pointed out by Peter Pearson
Now, in Without Getting Killed or Caught: The Life and Music of Guy Clark, writer, producer, and music industry insider Tamara Saviano chronicles the story of this legendary artist from her unique vantage point as his former publicist and producer of the Grammy-nominated album This One’s for Him: A Tribute to Guy Clark. Part memoir, part biography, Saviano’s skillfully constructed narrative weaves together the extraordinary songs, larger-than-life characters, previously untold stories, and riveting emotions that make up the life of this modern-day poet and troubadour.

Knopfler Kronikles part 1:POETIC LYRICS OR LYRICAL POETRY?
Sometimes a poem will make a good song lyric, but don’t be surprised to find that your lyric makes a bad poem. It all has to do with the difference between words that are meant to be spoken (or sung) and words meant to be read.

HER COUNTRY
In country music, the men might dominate the radio waves. However it's women, like Maren Morris (left), Mickey Guyton, and Kacey Musgraves, who are making history.

PLAYING MOON AND FORTY TWO
Thousands of contributors to the legacy and perpetuity of rock and roll are included in this third edition encyclopedia of what is clearly stated to be rock and roll rather than simply an encyclopedia of ´the somewhat obscure names listened to by Norman Warwick. Nevertheless a casual leaf through the entire A to Z threw up a list of many artists who now live in the shaded part of a Venn diagram that sees many in the circle representing The Rolling Stone Encyclopedia of Rock And Roll, and others I would consider to be Norms not ´very well known but nevertheless seminal´figures, all lving together in the shady area.

HAVE A LITTLE FAITH IN YOUR BOOKSHELF
It seems the man who emerges from this book, who has lived this story is respected as a man and a musician by all who have come to know him.

BOTTLEGGING WITH BOB
There is one biography that some say tells the story of Bob Dylan through the lens of seven penetrating songs .

DICTIONARY DEFINITION OF A POET
In his third volume of sonnets, James Nash examines urban and seaside environments in a Yorkshire he has known through fifty years living in the North. His sonnets soar over the land – from Leeds, a predominantly Victorian city, to the Wolds in the East Riding of Yorkshire, walking and cycling into the natural world with a pen and paper never far from his hand.

SMOKEY BLUE´S AWAY
Still, though, I can hear in my head a lyrical line that accompanies the New World Symphony Opus 9 music but the voice I hear is not mine (its in tune) and nor is it the voice of Colin Lever, my Lendanear song-writing partner, so I´m pretty damned certain we didn´t write it. Who did, though?

LINDA RONSTADT and the country rock scene
Tumbling Dice is my favourite track by The Rolling Stones and the decision to cover that 1972 hit was a stroke of genius for Ronstadt. Again, a woman shaking up the status quo with a groovy, provocative song was ground-breaking and became a tent pole of her catalogue.

BRAY-KING NEWS OF JENNY´S NEXT ALBUM
I enjoy watching all kinds of awards and have learned so much about life, music and creativity from meeting some of the great performers, their stories and lives can be very sad but also inspiring. I think the awards encourage me to be an individual, true to myself and my art. My own ambition is to be there for my family while continuing to write, perform and share music to the very best of my ability.
