Don\u2019t miss their Manchester date, which will feature PCO classics that have captivated audiences around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Announcing the Folk Album of the Year Award<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today,<a href=\"https:\/\/soundroots.us2.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=6b3c748ecdfabd7e597405245&amp;id=4ccd7a8a40&amp;e=87a9652e50\"><strong>The Folk Album of the Year Award<\/strong><\/a> has been launched to celebrate the most artistically acclaimed folk, roots and acoustic albums in the UK and Republic of Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ve created the award alongside our good friends at the&nbsp;award-winning podcast&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/soundroots.us2.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=6b3c748ecdfabd7e597405245&amp;id=c002f4fdaf&amp;e=87a9652e50\"><strong>Folk on Foot<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> in order to showcase the breadth and diversity of the genre&#8217;s community, celebrating originality, artistic quality and cultural impact &#8211; regardless of commercial profile.<br><br>The Award will spotlight eight shortlisted albums released in 2025, with the overall winner unveiled at an inaugural ceremony featuring live performances from nominated artists. Alan has his own programme, <strong>Jazz Kaleidoscope<\/strong> with <strong>Sanctuary radio<\/strong> in the West Midlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A drive into the <strong>Ribble Valley<\/strong> recently led me to sample their jazz delights with lunch at <strong>Maxwell&#8217;s Cafe<\/strong> <strong>Bar, Clitheroe.<\/strong> A duo of <strong>Julian Gregory (Bass)<\/strong> and <strong>Ken Marley<\/strong> (violin). Good food, music and atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>August bank holiday weekend<\/strong> takes me to <strong>Fishguard Jazz &amp; Blues Festival<\/strong> <strong>2025<\/strong>. In its 7th&nbsp;year now it brings together some of the best <strong>Jazz &amp; Blues<\/strong> bands of Wales. In a fine coastal location, I have the pleasure of presenting two sets of music, one covering the influences of <strong>Miles Davis<\/strong> upon Jazz musicians past and present, and a second preceding a <strong>Bessie Smith<\/strong> gig highlighting the influences upon and contemporaries of the <strong>Empress of the Blues<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now where did I put that bucket and spade!?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u00b4m home again from from a most enjoyable time at the <strong>Fishguard J&amp;B Festival 25<\/strong>. Lots to tell and lots to give airtime to. I\u00b4m still working my way through everything I brought back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of all lots of new friends to say hello to.<br>But first it&#8217;s time for the last of our summer wines with a view from the, `Crow&#8217;s Nest` by <strong>Radhika De Saram<\/strong>&nbsp;reviewed by <strong>Alan Musson<\/strong>, &nbsp;who delves into their sounds and the sounds of world music within which it is located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also on the show is new music from, <strong>Eddie Gripper&nbsp;&amp; Elijah Jeffery<\/strong>&nbsp;with <strong>`Dido&#8217;s Lament.`<\/strong> Lynne Holmes Music&nbsp;wants you to share your love with her.
