Released as a 2-LP\/CD set with a fresh remaster, <a href=\"https:\/\/jazziz.acemlnb.com\/lt.php?x=3DZy~GE4IFLP65R8_N25hONz~q6iuNciweUvjHg5U3jM68_6yEy.0OFt2XRzjdH3jfYwbHPEJnmd\"><em>A Beautiful Day, Revisited<\/em><\/a><em>,<\/em> includes the eight Hill compositions that comprised the original album with an extended edit of the band\u2019s theme &#8220;11\/8,&#8221; plus a second, previously unreleased performance of the title track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/1-4-1030x598.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22509\" width=\"432\" height=\"251\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/1-4-1030x598.jpeg 1030w, https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/1-4-300x174.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/1-4-768x446.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/1-4-705x409.jpeg 705w, https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/1-4.jpeg 1240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 23, Blue Note released <a href=\"https:\/\/jazziz.acemlnb.com\/lt.php?x=3DZy~GE4IFLP65R8_N25hONz~q6iuNciweUvjHg5U3jM68_6yEy.0OFt2XRzjdH3jfYwbHPEJnme\"><em>Celebration, Volume 1<\/em><\/a><em>,<\/em> the first in a series of archival releases by the saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter <strong><em>(left)<\/em><\/strong>  curated before passing in 2023. This 2014 live recording captured Shorter\u2019s quartet with Danilo Perez, John Patitucci and Brian Blade at the Stockholm Jazz Festival in Sweden. The set includes &#8220;Smilin\u2019 Through,&#8221; which has been released as a single and is accompanied by a live video of the performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jazziz.acemlnb.com\/lt.php?x=3DZy~GE4IFLP65R8_N25hONz~q6iuNciweUvjHg5U3jM68_6yEy.0OFt2XRzjdH3jfYwbHPEJnmf\">Walkin\u2019 After Midnight<\/a>, a new collection of twelve previously unreleased Eva Cassidy live tracks, will be released digitally (September 6) and on physical media (November 8) via Blix Street Records. Recorded on November 2, 1995, at the King of France Tavern in Annapolis, <em>Walkin\u2019 After Midnight<\/em> documents the much-missed vocalist alongside an unusual lineup, accompanied only by Chris Biondo on bass, Keith Grimes on electric guitar, and guest violinist Bruno Nasta, adding a fresh dynamic to the performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drummer, producer and educator Emanuel Harrold has shared a new video for &#8220;I Think,&#8221; featuring Gregory Porter. Watch the video filmed in Brighton during Harrold\u2019s recent time in the United Kingdom. &#8220;I Think&#8221; is taken from Harrold\u2019s latest album, <a href=\"https:\/\/jazziz.acemlnb.com\/lt.php?x=3DZy~GE4IFLP65R8_N25hONz~q6iuNciweUvjHg5U3jM68_6yEy.0OFt2XRzjdH3jfYwbHPEJnmg\"><em>We Da People<\/em><\/a><em>, <\/em>which exemplifies his soulful and future-thinking sound and was released at the beginning of the year via Gearbox Records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jazziz.acemlnb.com\/lt.php?x=3DZy~GE4IFLP65R8_N25hONz~q6iuNciweUvjHg5U3jM68_6yEy.0OFt2XRzjdH3jfYwbHPEJnmh\"><em>Levs<\/em><\/a> marks the debut Pi Recordings album by bassist and top improviser Kim Cass, and presents a program of compositions described via a press release as being &#8220;built on stilts of complex, polyrhythmic structures over a sea of harmonic murkiness.&#8221; The trio album finds Cass playing alongside pianist Matt Mitchell and drummer Tyshawn Sorey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Brazilian pianist, composer and vocalist Eliane Elias showcases her compositional prowess, offering eight new original songs with lyrics sung in English and Portuguese on her latest album, <a href=\"https:\/\/jazziz.acemlnb.com\/lt.php?x=3DZy~GE4IFLP65R8_N25hONz~q6iuNciweUvjHg5U3jM68_6yEy.0OFt2XRzjdH3jfYwbHPEJnmi\"><em>Time and Again<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em> Co-produced with her long-standing team of Marc Johnson and Steve Rodby, the record features stellar musicians, including guest performances by Mike Manieri, Peter Erskine, Bill Frisell and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saxophonist and clarinettist Ken Peplowski offers unique renditions of jazz classics and lesser-known gems on <a href=\"https:\/\/jazziz.acemlnb.com\/lt.php?x=3DZy~GE4IFLP65R8_N25hONz~q6iuNciweUvjHg5U3jM68_6yEy.0OFt2XRzjdH3jfYwbHPEJ3CZ\"><em>Live at Mezzrow<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em> Recorded at New York City\u2019s famed Mezzrow Jazz Club, the bandleader is joined on this release by Ted Rosenthal on piano, Martin Wind on bass and Willie Jones III on drums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Talented young multi-instrumentalist Vincent Ingala, one of the most in-demand touring artists on the contemporary jazz circuit, blends jazz, soul, blues, pop and R&amp;B in his new album, <a href=\"https:\/\/jazziz.acemlnb.com\/lt.php?x=3DZy~GE4IFLP65R8_N25hONz~q6iuNciweUvjHg5U3jM68_6yEy.0OFt2XRzjdH3jfYwbHPEJ3Ca\"><em>Escape With Me<\/em><\/a><em>,<\/em> featuring a mix of memorable originals and surprising covers. Jazz programming includes performances by Veronica Swift (September 8, 2024), and Christian Sands and Somi (October 6, 2024). The season will also include concerts by the Arun Ramamurthy Trio (October 19, 2024), which fuses South Indian Carnatic music with contemporary jazz, and the American Patchwork Quartet, blending jazz sophistication, country (March 21, 2025), West African hypnotics and East Asian ornamentation. The latter two concerts are part of Rockport Music\u2019s culture-crossing Global Journeys Series, curated by cellist Mike Block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Orleans trombonist, producer, composer and educator Delfaeyo Marsalis performed with the Uptown Jazz Orchestra at New York City\u2019s Birdland Jazz Club on August 6-10. The 18-piece band upholds the traditions of New Orleans swing, ensemble riff-playing and infectious, soulful dance music forming the foundations of American jazz. Birdland\u2019s lineup for August 2024 also included such artists as the Tyreek McDole Quintet (August 8), Bruce Harris (August 10), and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra (August 11). Juilliard has announced the full program of its 2024-25 season, with more than 800 live music, dance and drama performances at the school and beyond. The program includes the Juilliard Jazz Orchestra opening night concert, featuring a program with music by Duke Ellington and faculty members, inspired by the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright and painters Edgar Degas, Pablo Picasso and Jackson Pollack.
