These included pop and R&amp;B legends Sade,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pastemagazine.com\/music\/mariah-carey\/mariah-carey-music-box-anniversary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mariah Carey<\/a>&nbsp;and Cher, rock titans Ozzy Osbourne and Peter Frampton, &nbsp;and 1990s heroes&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pastemagazine.com\/music\/sinead-oconnor\/the-redemption-of-sinead-oconnor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sinead O\u2019Connor<\/a>, Oasis and Lenny Kravitz. Other artists up for election are Foreigner, Kool &amp; the Gang, Mary J. The former is the only act from the 2023 ballot to appear again in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/2-cher.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19698\" width=\"188\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/2-cher.jpg 225w, https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/2-cher-80x80.jpg 80w, https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/2-cher-36x36.jpg 36w, https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/2-cher-180x180.jpg 180w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 188px) 100vw, 188px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While this year marks the first year on the ballot for nine of the 14 nominees, Cher <strong><em>(right)<\/em><\/strong>  has been eligible since 1991, Kool &amp; the Gang since 1995, Frampton since 1998, Foreigner since 2003, Ozzy since 2006, Sade since 2010, Eric B. &amp; Rakim since 2012, O\u2019Connor and Jane\u2019s Addiction since 2013, Kravitz since 2015, A Tribe Called Quest and Carey since 2016, Blige since 2018 and Oasis and Dave Matthews Band since 2020. No shortlist acts are in their first year of eligibility this year. Voting by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame\u2019s electors will happen between today and late April, when the finalists are revealed.
