Un-Convention + Manchester Folk Festival 2023 Wristband<\/strong>
The 15th Anniversary Un-Convention<\/a> music conference will take place in Manchester this October.\u00a0The event will span two days (from 9.15am until 5pm each day), with panels being held on Friday\u00a020th October at Band on the Wall, Swan St, and on Saturday 21st October at the Methodist Central\u00a0Hall on Oldham St.
Un-Convention will once again be bringing together hundreds of artists, managers, labels, promoters, and\u00a0festivals from over 50 towns and cities across the UK to explore the current state of the sector, build\u00a0networks, and to develop ideas and actions for a more sustainable, diverse, and equitable music\u00a0industry.

Un-Convention and Manchester Folk Festival<\/a> have come together for the first time to offer a\u00a0combined ticket. This means you can attend both Un-Convention Manchester and Manchester Folk\u00a0Festival for just \u00a3100 \u2013 a \u00a325 saving on buying separate tickets. Make a jam-packed long weekend of\u00a0it (Thurs \u2013 Sat) by soaking up all of the knowledge that Un-Convention has to offer during the day\u00a0(Fri 20th & Sat 21st Oct) and then relax at some fantastic folk, roots and acoustic music gigs in the\u00a0evening (Thurs 19th \u2013 Sat 21st Oct.) Manchester Folk Festival runs alongside English Folk Expo<\/a>, which\u00a0means you will watch the evening gigs alongside 150+ music industry\u00a0representatives from across the world, including booking agents, festival programmers, promoters,\u00a0labels and more – offering fantastic networking potential! \u00a0 Artists are invited by EFE to join EFEx by contacting them to request a detailed schedule as well as a showcasing artists\u2019 page \u2013 with artists images, biographies, links and contact details \u2013 and a delegate page with delegate images, biographies and contact details.\u00a0 The delegates use these pages many times across the week as they navigate between showcases and network with fellow delegates.\u00a0 You could advertise on either of these pages with a square ad which sits between delegate\/artist information and is seen as the app is scrolled.\u00a0 Ads cost \u00a3120 + VAT and you can book multiple ads if required.\u00a0 To book an ad on either page and received specs and deadline details, click either of the links below:

This is precious cargo as they make their way through the weekend and the goodie bag contents travel to festival and venue programmers\u2019 desks across the world. This year, moving into Manchester’s Northern Quarter, English Folk Expo expands it’s artists’ programme, makes it easier for industry to attend as delegates with direct registration through it’s website here<\/a>, broadens it’s partnership showcase programme and provides artists with more reasons to join us for the whole weekend through collaboration with Un-Convention which will provide daytime career development training and networking for artists.

Oysterband<\/strong> – formed in 1978 as the Oyster Ceilidh Band, they are folk, sometimes rocking, stalwarts of the folk scene in the UK and far beyond, with thirteen studio albums and five BBC Folk Awards to their name .

Noble Jacks<\/strong>
–\u00a0Nominated Live Act Of The Year 2023 by the Americana Music Association UK, the duo Noble Jacks provide a fiddle-driven thrill ride and\u00a0joyfully hectic live shows.

Maddy Prior & The Forgotten Lands<\/strong>
– brings together the Steeleye Span front-woman with a gathering of trained and experienced vocal specialists to showcase what the human voice can do and encourage you to sing too.

Hack-Poets Guild<\/strong> –\u00a0Marry Waterson, Lisa Knapp and Nathaniel Mann lead a five-piece band bringing broadsides vividly to life for a new generation and offering a rare insight into Britain\u2019s history.

John Smith<\/strong> –\u00a0Known for his intimate songwriting, his honey-on-gravel voice and pioneering guitar playing, John has spent the last fifteen years touring internationally.

Will Pound & Jenn Butterworth<\/strong> –\u00a0Two of the finest instrumentalists in traditional music combine to bring a tour de force of breathtaking performances,\u00a0playing a game of \u2018musical cat and mouse\u2019; improvising and responding to each other.

Merry Hell<\/strong> –\u00a0Multi-award winning Merry Hell offer joyful, uplifting folk-rock, with a message for troubled times. Native to the North-West of England, they are currently holders of Folking.com’s Best Live Band Award.

Simeon Hammond Dallas<\/strong> –\u00a0Simeon fuses country, blues, and soul music to create her own blend of Americana, whilst keeping true to her London roots. .

Blackbeard’s Tea Party<\/strong> –\u00a0Sea-shanties are given a bombastic rock edge, and folk instrumentals become late-night floor-fillers when this raucous bunch of reprobates hit the stage.

Suntou Susso<\/strong> –\u00a0Susso is a Gambia-raised Kora player, percussionist, singer and composer who has performed with\u00a0Youssou N\u2019Dour at the O2 arena and played festivals including\u00a0WOMAD and\u00a0Hay Festival.

Granny’s Attic<\/strong> –\u00a0With exceptional musicianship and boundless energy, the Granny\u2019s Attic\u00a0trio have been heralded for their lively performances and skilled delivery of traditional material that\u00a0pushes at the boundaries of the genre.

Ranagri<\/strong> –\u00a0have forged a new and contemporary sound on the folk scene, mixing\u00a0harp, flutes, guitars, dulcimer, percussion and\u00a0with lead vocals and harmonies.
