Hitting stores and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3E6xMwu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">available online since Nov. 15<\/a>, the 336-page hardcover draws on Obama\u2019s experiences over the last few years, offering what she calls a \u201ctoolbox\u201d of strategies to stay hopeful and optimistic amidst the many challenges of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obama says the pandemic was a difficult time for her, sympathizing that it was \u201cleaving us isolated at home during a time of uncertainty. And like everyone else,\u201d she wrote on Twitter, \u201cI had a lot of questions about how to overcome anxiety and fear when it felt like the ground was moving beneath us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The questions from others, and doubts in her own mind, ultimately compelled her to write&nbsp;<em>The Light We Carry<\/em>, which will take the form of first-person anecdotes and lessons learned from Obama\u2019s time in the White House and her life as a mother and spouse. \u201cIt\u2019s a collection of practices and perspectives that I draw on when I need to stay balanced and confident, especially in times of anxiety and stress,\u201d she explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/3-7.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12845\" width=\"252\" height=\"252\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/3-7.jpg 160w, https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/3-7-80x80.jpg 80w, https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/3-7-36x36.jpg 36w, https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/3-7-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 252px) 100vw, 252px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The new book comes four years after the release of&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3hFBkyr\" target=\"_blank\">Obama\u2019s memoir,&nbsp;<em>Becoming<\/em><\/a>, which sold&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/global.penguinrandomhouse.com\/announcements\/michelle-obamas-becoming-sells-more-than-725000-units-in-u-s-and-canada-on-first-day-of-publication\/\" target=\"_blank\">almost a million copies<\/a>&nbsp;on its first day of release, and went on to become one of the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/culture\/culture-news\/michelle-obama-announces-deeply-personal-first-memoir-becoming-203234\/\" target=\"_blank\">best-selling books of all time<\/a>&nbsp;(not to mention a&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3E4KaNF\" target=\"_blank\">best-selling audiobook<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The First Lady gave a nod to her first book in her Twitter post Sunday, when describing what readers can expect from&nbsp;<em>The Light We Carry<\/em>. \u201cSome of these tools are habits. Some are actual physical objects. Others are attitudes and beliefs from my on-going journey of becoming,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI poured a lot into this book, and my hope is that it might give you some ideas for your own journey.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to her publisher, the title of Obama\u2019s new book is taken from her belief that everyone possess an inner flame and that people \u201cbecome bolder with brightness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEven when the world feels dark and uncertain,\u201d she writes, \u201cwe always have the ability to kindle our own light by looking inside ourselves and then sharing it with others.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aata.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/2-9.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12847\" width=\"426\" height=\"648\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Light We Carry: Overcoming In Uncertain Times<\/em>&nbsp;is&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3g0l1f0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">now available on hardcover online<\/a>.
