The album has been playing six hours a day, plus my overtime, and I\u00b4m not tired of it yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I mentioned her to Music That\u00b4s Going Places and Rob Adama responded that he has really liked the footage he has seen of her at various festivals in the States, (so that sent me off looking for that footage !)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I mentioned her also to Jim Wade at Jazz In Reading who hadn\u00b4t heard of her but got hold of the album anyway. He told me in an e mail that he loved the insertion into Nothing But Blue Skies of In Walked Bud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Me too, but I realised in horror that actually I had overlooked mentioning that in my review of Moon To Gold in an article that is now filed in our easy to negotiate archives of over 750 essays. Just type in her name in&nbsp; our search engine and the screen will bring up the piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nothing But Blue Skies is a live track on the album and the insertion of In Walked Bud segues seamlessly into the song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Walked Bud&nbsp; is, of course, a 1947&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jazz\">jazz<\/a>&nbsp;composition by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Thelonious_Monk\">Thelonious Monk<\/a>. It was composed by Monk in honour of his friend, fellow pianist&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bud_Powell\">Bud Powell<\/a>, and based in part on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Irving_Berlin\">Irving Berlin<\/a>&nbsp;standard \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Blue_Skies_(1926_song)\">Blue Skies<\/a>\u201c. There are already some big dates slotted in for many genres<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Contemporary classical performances already has booked guests<\/strong> from Manchester Camerata\u2019s <strong>Mozart Made in Manchester<\/strong>, to our continued collaboration with the <strong>Manchester Chamber Concerts Society<\/strong>, as well as classical crossover artists, the <strong>Ayoub Sisters<\/strong> <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td>Internation jazz in 2023 at The Stoller Hall will feature  Tommy Blaize*<em> (right, ,of Strictly Come Dancing fame<\/em>) performing alongside the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Dave Bristow Quartet, Phillip Lassiter\u00a0and more. \u00a0 The father of Soul, Ray Charles changed the course of music history with his pioneering combination of gospel, jazz, and R&amp;B. Nicknamed \u2018the Genius\u2019, he would become one of the most recognisable artists of the 20th century, his hoarse voice and passionate performances made him an icon, celebrated across the globe. A prolific pianist, singer, and composer, Charles was also an important figure in the American civil rights movement of the 1950s and 60s. His refusal to perform at racially segregated venues would lead to a life-ban from his home state of Georgia, who would later apologise and make his version of\u00a0<em>Georgia on My Mind<\/em>\u00a0the official state anthem. \u00a0 In 2023,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/nyjo.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">NYJO<\/a>\u00a0is touring a programme in celebration of the history and immeasurable talent of Ray Charles, to whom all jazz musicians and fans alike owe so much, featuring the brilliant singer, Tommy Blaize. A fantastic opportunity to see a 19-piece band of some of the most talented young jazz musicians in the UK take the stage with one of the country\u2019s finest vocalists. \u00a0 As lead singer of the BBC Strictly Come Dancing band, Tommy Blaize\u2019s powerful yet sensitive performances have helped create some of the most memorable TV moments of recent times. \u00a0 Singing live to an audience of more than 12 million every week, his soulful voice is etched in the public consciousness. Tommy began his singing career at the tender age of nine with The Blaize Brothers, alongside siblings Tony and Darrin, playing in clubs across the North-West of England in the 1970s. In a career spanning a remarkable 50 years, Tommy has gone on to work with some of the world\u2019s most legendary and renowned artists, from Diana Ross to Queen, The Beach Boys, Amy Winehouse, Joe Cocker, and Stevie Wonder.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Music is&nbsp;<em>powerful<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>emotive<\/em>&nbsp;and for many&nbsp; a&nbsp;<em>joyful<\/em>&nbsp;universal language that&nbsp;<em>connects<\/em>&nbsp;people and cultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Chetham\u2019s Foundation, a charity of which Stoller Hall is a part, is driven by a passion for music education.
